Properties
Links to the different properties of
herbs are listed to the left.
Abortifacients thru Antibiotics
Anticatarrhals thru Astringents
Cardiacs thru Emmenogogues
Galactagogues thru Vulneraries
From those pages you will be able to follow links
to lists of herbs with the given properties, as well as cautions for the herbs
that have cautions. It must be noted here that although an herb is listed with a
specific property, most herbs as you will see if you browse around on this site
enough, have more than one property. As an example, a very popular herb such as
Echinacea has several different properties. Those being Antiseptic, Alterative,
Depurative, and Digestive. It is also listed as an Aphrodisiac by M. Grieve in A
Modern Herbal Volume 1.
I have chosen not to list
every property because so many of them are similar. Take Antilithics and
Lithotriptics or Antiseptics and Disinfectants for instance, each of
these sets respectively, contain most of the same herbs, so I have
chosen not to list them separately.
