Herbs with Hemostatic Properties

Bayberry ( Uterus), Beth Root (General), Black Alder, Blackberry (Uterus), Bistort, Black Cohosh (Lungs), Cayenne (Powerful), Club Moss*, Comfrey, Ergot*, Goldenseal*(Uterus, bowels), Great Burnett, Horsetail, Knotweed*, Mullein (Bowels, general), Nettles*, Sting Nettle Root (General), Plantain, Red Alder, Shave Grass*, Smooth Alder, Storksbill (Uterus), Tormentil, White Oak Bark (General), Witch Hazel, Yarrow.

 Club Moss - Lycopodium clavatum - CAUTION: The spores of Club Moss are safe, but the plant itself is poisonous.

 Ergot - Claviceps purpurea - CAUTION: It is unadviseable to use this herb without medical direction.

 Goldenseal - Hydrastis canadensis - CAUTION: The plant, if eaten fresh will produce ulcerations and inflammation of mucous tissue. Those with Hypoglycemia (Low Blood Sugar) should use this herb with caution as it will lower the blood sugar level.

 Knotweed - (a) Polygonum hydropiper (b) Polygonum punctatum (c) Polygonum persicaria- CAUTION: The juice of these plants can cause internal and external inflammation. Professionally made preparations should be used under medical supervision.

 Nettles - Urtica dioica - CAUTION: Uncooked old plants can cause kidney damage and symptoms of poisoning if eaten. The bristly hairs of this plant act like hypodermic needles that inject an irritating substance under the skin when touched: HANDLE WITH CARE.

 Shave Grass - Equisetum arvense - CAUTION: Large or excessive doses can cause symptoms of poisoning.
