 Alfalfa - Medicago sativa - CAUTION: Alfalfa is believed to aggrevate the condition known as Lupus and other autoimmune disorders. If you have an autoimmune condition, avoid this herb.

 Arnica - Arnica montana - CAUTION: Only very dilute solutions of this tincture should be used, as it can cause blistering and inflammation when applied. Arnica should not be used, except in emergencies, without medical supervision.

 Buckthorn - (a)Rhamnus frangula (b) Rhamnus cathartica - CAUTION: (a) Fresh bark and the unripe fruit can cause symptoms of poisoning. Heating to 212 degrees or storing for a year will render the bark safe. (b) The berries in excessive amounts can cause poisoning.

 Goat's Rue - Galega officinalis - CAUTION: The fresh plant has been known to poison sheep.

 Hepatica - Hepatica triloba - CAUTION: This plant should not be used on wounds, as it is irritating to the skin. Large doses can produce symptoms of poisoning.

 Pasque Flower - Anemone patens - CAUTION: Alkaloids contained in this plant may cause depression, nervousness, and upset stomach. It can also be fatal if taken in large enough doses. DO NOT USE WITHOUT MEDICAL DIRECTION.

 Ragwort - Senecio aureus - CAUTION: Alkaloids contained in Ragwort have been known to poison livestock.

 Red Sedge - Carex arenaria - CAUTION: Do not use if kidney inflammation is present.

 St. Benedict's Thistle - Cnicus benedictus - CAUTION: A strong tea made from this herb acts as an emetic and should be used cautiously.

 Shave Grass - Equisetum arvense - CAUTION: Excessive doses can lead to poisoning.

 Turkey Corn - Corydalis formosa - CAUTION: This herb contains alkaloids that are toxic and should be used cautiously.

 Virgin's Bower - Clematis virginiana - CAUTION: This herb contains substances that will cause severe skin irritation. Sensitive people can get dermatitis from handling this plant.

 Watercress - Nasturtium officinale - CAUTION: Excessive or prolonged use can lead to kidney problems. It should not be taken daily and no longer than four weeks even with interruptions. The juice should not be taken undiluted, as it causes inflammation of the throat and stomach. Some doctors caution not to use during pregnancy.
